Course Name: Stage Lighting Design For Teachers - Introduction
Course Duration: 4 hours (9am -1pm or 1pm - 5pm)
Cost of Course:£695 per half days course (excluding VAT)
Delegate Numbers:Maximum of 10 delegates per course



Technical TrainingIntroduction:

Our Courses will enable teachers/drama technicians to get the most out of their equipment and support students wishing to explore lighting as part of a performance support element of GCSE Drama, Creative and Media Diploma, BTEC(s) in Performing Arts or GCE Drama (Unit 2 AS and Unit 3 A2), as a hobby or as part of a team working on lighting for schools and colleges.

Courses are also suitable for any other adult working within the educational environment.

Course objectives:

The course is designed to cover the fundamentals of stage lighting and inspire creativity, enabling staff to support students wishing to experiment in this area or being assessed formally as part of a qualification.

It will also enable teachers to make the most of the equipment they have access to.


 

Course content:

  • Where to rig the lights, lighting angles and what difference it makes
  • Exploring the world of colour
  • Types of lights, which to use and why
  • The lighting system including dimmers and patching
  • Rigging and focusing lights
  • Plotting lighting including types of lighting boards

Further Information:

Equipment will be supplied by Stage Electrics. The room should be available for 30 minutes before and after the workshop and the course requires a room with a blackout.
