The world premiere production of Flashdance - The Musical exploded onto the stage in July this year to excellent reviews. Stage Electrics is delighted to be supplying lighting equipment for the show's UK tour.
Set in Pittsburgh USA, Flashdance tells the story of 18 year old Alex, a welder by day and 'flashdancer' by night, whose dream is to obtain a place at the prestigious Shipley Dance Academy.
Stage Electrics' beat competitors to win the contract which is currently for one year. Lighting Designer Jason Taylor specified 14 MAC 2000 Wash XBs, 12 Martin MAC 2000 Performance along with 28 Martin Professional Mac 700 Spots and 8 Mac 600NT Wash units as part of the lighting design. The rig also comprises 6 Vari*Lite VL1000 AS, 4 ETC Source 4 Revolutions, 4 Clay Paky Alpha Wash Halo, 5 Par 56 Digital Light Curtains and 44 Chroma Q Scrollers. Around 75 ETC Source 4s were also integrated into the design which boasted control from an ETC Eos console, only the second time Stage Electrics has used this desk in musical theatre since its recent launch.
