The Sound of Music - Case Studies
The Sound of Music
The first West End show to use a reality TV show to find its lead actor was The Really Useful Group's production of The Sound of Music. Connie Fisher won the TV show and took the starring role at The London Palladium.
Stage Electrics, having previously worked with production manager Matt Towell on numerous productions including Cats and Starlight Express, was selected to supply the lighting equipment specified by lighting designer Mark Henderson.
The show uses in excess of 100 moving lights primarily made up of Martins extremely popular MAC TW1 tungsten wash unit, along with approximately 50 Martin MAC 700 spots and washes. 19 of Varilites VL1000 A/S units complete the inventory of moving fixtures for the production which opened in November 2007.
Stage Electrics' relationship with the London Palladium has recently been strengthened with the venue commissioning our technical services department to manufacture a variety of custom facility panels to provide a high level of flexibility. The new panels were part of a program of modernisation works bringing the technical specification of one of London's most famous theatres, right up to date.
