Award winning business communications agency Dobson White approached Stage Electrics for some ice rink managementwhich would turn their client's, Sega UK, festive event into something spectacular. The original requirement was for an indoor and outdoor event for buyers of Sega software which would include the unveiling of new products followed by some unique Christmas party entertainment.
The special one day event was held at the 5 star Luton Hoo Hotel Golf & Spa. Stage Electrics provided a stunning winter wonderland theme in the adjacent tennis courts during the evening. This included a 10 x 12 metre portable ice rink complete with a Sega logo frozen in the centre of the rink, igloo bar, 8 ice bumper cars, 60 pairs of ice skates and fairground attractions for evening client entertainment. The ice rink's 200kW chiller and 350KVA generator were stored in surrounding woodland 50 metres from the ice rink. The ice rink was installed in just 2 days and took 12 hours to dismantle. Stage Electrics also provided all outdoor lighting, including Christmas tree lights, and mains distribution for the inflatable igloo structure and accompanying stalls to create the desired festive effect.
Prior to the winter wonderland, the day began with an event at the hotel's converted stable block conference facility. The room was divided into 4 sound proof breakout rooms where new Sega games and consoles were demonstrated in an interactive presentation area.
Comments from those enjoying the evening's entertainment were encouraging, with guests making the most of the ice facilities and the unusual surroundings. Senior Production Manager Dave Gorton from Dobson White said:

I've had comments passed onto me from my client saying it was amazing, the best retail conference they've ever done, let's do two days next time.
