Stage Electrics was contacted by Hanrahan productions to supply ice rink hire for a festive TV advert for a surprise client, new online department store Very.co.uk.
This was the first time both Hanrahan productions and Very.co.uk had used a temporary ice rink for a campaign, so they called upon Stage Electrics as the UK's leading supplier for ice projects. Through a series of meetings in the run up to filming, Stage Electrics was able to provide the expertise and guidance to help the client gain an understanding of what would be possible and what would work well on the ice rink construction, to ensure the TV advert achieved the desired outcome.
It was agreed that a 400 square metre temporary ice rink would provide the perfect solution for the festive TV ad starring FearneCotton and Holly Willoughby, allowing the TV presenters to be surrounded by other skaters promoting the merchandise from the online department store to encourage sales in the run up to Christmas.
The temporary ice rink was installed into Shepperton Studios for just 6 days. To ensure the filming went as smoothly as possible there was a Stage Electrics Technical Manager present on site at all times to ensure the ice was well maintained and the actual filming for the advert only took 2 days.
