Customs House

New Cinema Installation

South Tyneside MBC recently contracted Stage Electrics to upgrade the technical performance facilities at The Customs House in South Shields as part of a major revamp. Stage Electrics worked alongside the main contractor, Surgo Construction.

The project included the relocation of the theatre control room and associated facilities, replacement of the performance dimming with an ETC Sensor+ solution, performance facilities panels, lighting bars and cable infrastructure in the main theatre space, all controlled from the new ETC Congo Junior lighting console. In addition, the 35mm cinema system was upgraded, including the installation of a projection screen, JBL surround sound system and Dolby processor, and refurbishment of the existing 35mm projection equipment.

The customer is delighted with the results and was impressed with the ability of Stage Electrics to deliver fully integrated solutions in the very short timescale given.
