David Whitehead began his career at the Northcott Theatre in Exeter where he met Maurice Marshal. At that time David was also running his own business "Sounds in Transit". In 1979, David and Maurice founded Stage Electrics and built it into the business that it is today.

David's reputation for visionary lighting design both in theatrical and architectural environments has been established over the past 30 years, working on over 420 shows in the UK and abroad, and he is now a well respected lighting designer in his own right.
In the past 30 years David has been instrumental in leading the business through market changes, recognising opportunities and creating a dynamic working environment for close to 240 staff.
David's passion has always been the delivery of exceptional customer service and this remains central to Stage Electrics' business priorities today.
