Course objectives:
The training will give you an understanding of the basics of moving lights, LED lighting and DMX 512 and instructs you on the more advanced features of the setup and the programming of fixtures and how to plan and implement DMX equipment.
Through a series of demonstrations and practical exercises, delegates will get hands on training and
experience in the use of moving lights, LED fixtures and DMX equipment.
Course content:
- An introduction to moving lights and LED equipment and its use in live music, drama, dance and corporate work
- Theory and practice of the setup of DMX 512 equipment
- Using colour, gobos, beam control, effects and other parameters on intelligent fixtures
- Colour mixing systems and how to achieve the required colour
- Identifying faults and basic maintenance of fixtures *
- Use of DMX 512, setting up a control system, addresses and DMX 512 distribution
- Setting up groups and palettes on a moving light console and building cues
- Ethernet control systems and the future of control protocols such as RDM
*This course gives you a basic idea of how to identify faults and very basic maintenance. We have a separate course for those technicians wishing to Service and Maintain Intelligent Lighting and we offer separate courses for Martin and Vari-lite products.
