The Jasmin Vardimon Company- Celebrating One Year of Support from Stage Electrics

We are delighted to provide support for the next generation of Lighting Designers at the Jasmin Vardimon Company.

The Jasmin Vardimon Company is a professional dance company founded by the acclaimed Choreographer and Artistic Director, Jasmin Vardimon MBE. The Company performs nationally and internationally, with productions including ALiCE, Pinocchio, Alice in VR Wonderlands and more. JV2 is a professional development diploma, which provides performers with a unique opportunity to train and develop alongside the Jasmin Vardimon Company dancers.

Stage Electrics Managing Director, Dave Coull emphasises the importance of the relationship: “Stage Electrics have a proud history of supporting emerging talents as they embark on a career in technical theatre. Assisting young people at this early stage of their development supports the healthy continuation of the industry—pushing the boundaries of technical excellence and contemporary creativity.”

“Opportunities to support the Jasmin Vardimon Company have been possible at several stages of the ambitious J.V. H.O.M.E project in Ashford, Kent. Initially, Stage Electrics provided consultation and design services. During construction we were privileged to be able to supply, install and commission all the stage lighting, stage engineering and technical services. The more we learnt about the JV2 program, and their partnership with the Lighting Design Course at Rose Bruford, the more inspired we were to provide further assistance and support to the Jasmin Vardimon Company and it's students.”

Megan Saunders is the Head of Creative Learning at the Jasmin Vardimon Company: “We’re grateful to be supported by a company as well-established and respected in the theatre industry as Stage Electrics. Their support has assisted the development of technical skills and opportunities within the JV2 program. Three Lighting Designers have directly benefited from the funding so far: Melissa Holmes, Hannah Clancy and currently Caitlin Smith, whose lighting design was a key creative aspect for the latest productions of JV2 2023 Triple Bill at JV H.O.M.E. Without the support of Stage Electrics, their professional development wouldn’t have progressed at the rate it has.”

Matthew Carnazza is Technical Manager for Jasmin Vardimon Company: “Stage Electrics’ support provides amazing opportunities for Lighting Design students to develop their technical and creative skills through working on professional performances. I studied at Rose Bruford College, a drama school in London, and was selected for a placement opportunity to work on the JV2 2019 tour, which has since led to my more permanent position here at JV H.O.M.E, as well as broader professional work. My first-hand experience shows how opportunities, such as those supported by Stage Electrics, can create and facilitate an exciting career path for young people.

We are proud to be able to support such a worthwhile organisation, investing in the future of our industry.
