Stage Electrics Supply Lighting and Sound for Downe House School

Stage Electrics have supplied Downe House School in Berkshire with a sound system and lighting control for their new auditorium. Stage Electrics have been working closely with Downe House during the infrastructure design and build of the new venue and the delivery of the DiGiCo S21 and the Avolites Tiger Touch II marks the final stage of the process.

“Downe House was looking for a solution that offered flexibility”, commented Paul Lucas, of Stage Electrics, “their primary need was for lighting control that was compact and portable so that it could be used in this venue and across the rest of the site. We looked at several different options, but the Avolites Tiger Touch II stood out to us because of its perfect combination of power and portability. From a technical perspective, this desk’s grouping of 20 playbacks and built-in UPS gave it the upper hand”.

“As for their need for a digital mixing console, we explored several different options” continued Paul “but settled on the DiGiCo S21 due to its 48 flexi-channels and dual multi-touch screens – creating the perfect combination for both staff and students to operate.  Downe House also owns another S21 purchased from us back in 2015 and, with the addition of the DiGiCo Little Red Box and their D2 rack, it allows them to use the S21 as a monitors desk during their larger music events”.

Alex Boswell, Production Manager at Downe House, commented that “Paul Lucas and the rest of the team at Stage Electrics have been fantastic throughout the process, with a wealth of knowledge they were able to help us throughout the project”.

Alex concluded, “The school places a large focus on engaging their students with the performing and creative arts; our new equipment will certainly enhance the teaching of these subjects”.
