Job Summary
To prepare and manufacture a wide range of technical items under guidance, to the appropriate specification. To utilise the tools and plant available to complete engineering tasks as required and to wire and terminate a range of equipment in an accurate and efficient manner while following correct procedures and safe working practices as shown.
Main Tasks
This is an opportunity to learn and develop skills in the role and as such the successful candidate is not expected to have the ability to carry out the following tasks, but will achieve them over time:
• To follow technical drawings and schematics
• To apply themselves to learning new skills and then practicing them
• To populate equipment racks, panels & patches and other electrical enclosures
• To fit signal and electrical connectors to cables
• To wire cables and equipment in a neat and tidy manner
• To label and document work in a logical and clear way
• To mechanically fix components in the correct manner
• To follow test procedures and record the test results
• To work towards department deadlines
• To ensure all items manufactured are correctly labelled & wrapped
• Refer any queries & issues to the appropriate Operations Manager
• Any other reasonable duties as directed by an Operations Manager Skills
Knowledge & Experience
The successful applicant will develop their skills within the role but the following will help:
• The ability to work methodically and harmoniously within a team
• Be motivated to complete tasks when working on their own
• To demonstrate reliability, enthusiasm and diligence in their work
• Any computer skills in Microsoft Outlook, Excel and Word would be of benefit
• Plus any experience of soldering or wiring, a basic knowledge of electricity, or possible experience of stage lighting and sound systems could be advantageous
