Indoor PA System

HMS Raleigh has a long standing relationship with Stage Electrics so when they needed new outdoor and indoor PA Systems, Stage Electrics was charged with undertaking their installation project.

The challenge was to install two entirely independent PA systems that could host separate events simultaneously. The outdoor PA system for the parade ground needed to be suitable for weekly passing out parades, day to day training and events. The indoor PA system for a seated venue also needed to be suitable for similar events to be used in poor weather conditions.

HMSR outdoor speaker towerThe outdoor PA system is versatile enough to be used for CD playback and radio microphones. The system used innovative IP rated RCF P series acustica boxes. They were mounted on heavy duty S series Prolyte masts concreted into the floor with cables conveniently running underground through ducting. The Acustica boxes are fed with 100V line flexa series amplifiers. This system also benefits from an outdoor induction loop to cater for the hard of hearing.

The key challenge was to specify an induction loop system to allow for a cable run of over 350m and be compatible with a metal seating stand. Rigorous testing of equipment in various scenarios ensured only the most suitable was installed.

Standard indoor acustica speakers were installed for the indoor PA system. To help users, the operating procedure is identical to the outdoor PA system. The indoor PA system is futureproofed, allowing for expansion if desired.
