Shaun the Sheep

FlashThe national equipment and event technology specialist Stage Electrics has announced a close partnership with local charity Wallace and Gromit's Grand Appeal, the Bristol Children's Hospital charity, as part of the Shaun in the City sculpture trail.

Stage Electrics, one of the largest UK providers of audio, lighting, staging and video equipment, is working with the charity to provide all of the technical support and services for the Bristol exhibition and auction planned as the finale of the campaign, run in aid of the Wallace and Gromit Children's Charity and The Grand Appeal.

A total of 70 sculptures of Aardman Animations' Shaun the Sheep will be installed in iconic locations and green spaces all over Bristol from 6th July to 31st August. Each has been individually created by a different artist, designer or celebrity to create an attractive and colourful trail across the city. The Bristol trail follows the success of the Shaun in the City London trail earlier this year, which featured 50 different sculptures and attracted hundreds of thousands of visitors.

After the Bristol trail all 120 sculptures will go on display in Bristol, in the 'Great Sheep Round Up' exhibition, before being auctioned for the charity in the autumn. Proceeds from the Bristol sculptures will benefit the Grand Appeal, and proceeds from the London sculptures will go towards Wallace and Gromit's Children's Charity, which supports children in hospitals all over the UK.
Shaun in the City follows hot on the heels of the hugely successful 2013 Gromit Unleashed trail which saw 80 individually customised Gromit sculptures displayed across the City of Bristol.

Stage Electrics, which has offices in Bristol, London and Dubai, was the sponsor of one of the London sculptures, 'Flash', designed by Chris Haughton and displayed in St Martin's Courtyard, near Covent Garden. John Wallace, head of operations within its live events division explains, "We have been working with The Grand Appeal since 2013 through our relationship with the iconic Cribbs Causeway shopping centre which will host this year's Shaun in the City exhibition and auction.
"The Gromit and Shaun characters are so symbolic for Bristol and its creative industries, that we felt it was only natural for us to sponsor a model this year in the creative hub of Convent Garden.

"Flash has been designed by children's author and illustrator Chris Haughton and after the trail is dismantled later this summer will feature as one of the 120 displayed models to be exhibited and later auctioned to raise money for the Aardman run charities which support the work of children's hospitals nationwide.'
